Hadassah, founded in 1912 by Henrietta Szold, is
the largest Jewish volunteer organization in the U.S. and supports the
Hadassah Medical Organization and the Szold School of Nursing in
Jerusalem.
Hadassah's goal is TO HEAL ANYONE IN NEED
REGARDLESS OF RACE, RELIGION OR NATIONALITY. More than 700,000 patients
are treated each year in keeping with hadassah's mission of healing the
world, one patient at a time.
The Hadassah Medical Organization was nominated
for the 2005 Nobel Peace Prize.
About Dr. Ingeborg Mauksch
this woman of inspiration spent more than 50 years
in the nursing profession. Among her many accomplishments, Dr. Mauksch
was one of the visionaries who helped develop the role of the Nurse
Practitioner, promoted Hospice care and helped to found the nursing
program at Florida Gulf Coast University.
Dr. Mauksch's distinguished career earned her many
awards including the National Hadassah Nurse of the Year Award. She was
elected a Fellow in the American Academy of Nursing, the highest honor
in her profession.
Dr. Ingeborg Mauksch died on June 20, 2004.
